Fort Cubicle: The Battle of Privacy Ends

Posted under Home Office & Privacy & Private Office Space & Private Spaces

In a world of social networking (think Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn), it seems our privacy is all but diminishing.

Imagine your own fort for working in complete solitude. Wouldn’t you get 70% more work completed if you could isolate yourself in near total seclusion?

As a freelance web designer based out of my home, I’m often trying to work with a slew of distractions ranging from my Boxer, Asia, to my 5 year old nephew, Seth. I have a lock on my door but honestly, it is a waste of time to lock it when everyone knows where the spare key is!

I’m sure I could re-hide it elsewhere, but knowing me I’d forget where I hid it and have to have someone take my door off its hinges so I can get back in after I inevitably lock the master key inside!

“House on the table” by Soojin Hyun could very well be the answer to my privacy seeking prayers.

Hyun has designed an "office" that sits atop a table. This office space includes 4 walls, a door, vaulted ceiling, interior lighting, book shelves and windows… all within the size limits of a cubicle!

I sure wish I knew how much this would retail for! Better than that, I wish my home had enough room to hold this… oy, I can dream right?

Should I ever have a home large enough I know what I will be asking Santa for!

Who else thinks this is a rather ingenious idea?

LOL well trust me Kel… when you work from home and have numerous distractions a bit of loneliness is a welcoming thought! :D
