I recently received a request from a student of the Art Institute Online to write a tutorial on how to build a static website. She specifically wants to know how to have a header image remain in place while navigating through the various pages.
There are thousands of beginner tutorials out there about how to build a website and such but those make the learner feel as though the tutorial writer thinks everyone is 12 years old. If they don’t make you feel 12 years old then they make you feel like you are learning disabled if you are not already a competent web developer.
My series will be a bit different. I will take you from the initial concept creation, stock photo search, Photoshop PSD creation, slicing and coding the site in tableless valid strict xhtml and CSS.
This will be my very first tutorial series so I ask you all to please be patient yet do ask if you have any questions.
I will post one lesson a week and include the source files and a live demo of where you should be upon completion of the lesson.
The first lesson will commence on Monday.
